I have gone through two ripsaws so far and I am thinking of replacing it with the cobra track 136". I do mostly trail riding but like to go off trail a lot as well. How well does the cobra hold up to track spin in comparison with the ripsaw. Thanks.

Mine has held up real well---lots of 0-wide open runs---1300 miles and no lugs missing---very happy with it---goes really well in the loose snow and deeper powder.

I replaced the Ripsaw on my Attak with the Cobra and have been very happy. Don't get your hopes up on this track making the Attak a good off trail sled because it isn't and anything short of a 151" won't make it that way.
It will keep great trail manners with a little better bite off trail.

When I go off trail in Maine it is a little different than most of you. Off trail for me is going down unplowed logging roads and I just need a little more push than the ripsaw. The wide USI X2 skies also help keep the front end from tanking on me. Thanks for the info.

My stock Ripsaw blew apart at 7,000 miles. I replaced it with a cobra. I now have 5,700 miles on the Cobra and lugs are tearing off fast. I don't think it will last any longer than my Ripsaw did. It provides much better traction off trail and on trail when the trails are mealy. The only place I felt the Ripsaw was better was top end and on trails that were hard as a rock. Next time I'm going to try a 1.25 Predator.

I am also running a Cobra...jury is still out. Good in the loose but I am not happy on the hard pack and ice. I am going to 162 studs to see if I can get a better balance for what I like. If you are planning on a Predator you had better find one now because they are discontinued. Let me know if you find one.

I have had 1" predator, 1.25" predator, cobra, ripsaw all with 144 studs up the middle.

Predator 1.25" is best for everything except braking
Cobra is the best track are braking but not as good as the 1.25" predator in hard pack and loose snow.

The other ones I didn't like at all the ripsaw is way at the bottom. It does do well on hardpack but in the loose and deep snow it performs like a 1/2" track LOL

The Cobra is a softer compound than the Rip Saw, so keep that in mind when trying to compare mileage. Sounds like there may some marginal/ rougher conditions ridden by a few of you guys, but I have Cobra's on both my sleds (144's tho) and I really like them. If they don't last as long, I'll still take it because they work so much better. I mainly ride off-trail with some high speed trails, mostly in the UP, so I do my best to stay away from crappy conditions.
I'd say go for it, you'll like the performance, but you will give up just a little bit of side bite in the corners. Mine are not studded, and I can't forsee adding them either. I like it just the way it is.

I love my cobra not many km's on it yet but i really really like it what a differance in the drifts and really hooks on the trails too i put 108 studs up the middle for ice i would get another one (i have a 2006 Attak 136" so we are apples to apples

I've got 2500 groomed trail miles on my Cobra and it has held up well so far. Looks almost new yet. Has awesome hook up in loose conditions compared to the Rip Saw. About the same hook up as Rip Saw in hard pack. The only negative so far is my top end speed has suffered slightly vs the rip Saw. I would say I lost about 3 mph top end with it.

I'm in the same dilemma. I am going to do a 121" to 128" extension and have to choose a track. It seems that the majority like the Cobra. I've also noticed a lot of people have had issues with any of the tracks. What track is stock on an '07 Apex GT and how high are the lugs? My track has 9200 miles on it with 144 studs in and out and it still looks like it did brand new. All groomed trails in Canada. I would use one off the '11 Apex's, but I'm sure the tracks from Yamaha are twice as much. Looking for good hookup with decent braking and good longevity.

How is the life on the 1.25 Predators? I have seen a few for sale on Ebay and they all seem to be missing a few lugs. Is that too tall of a lug for the harder rubber of the Predator?

I have a few rides on my cobra, i have 144 - 1.450 gold diggers with the tall nuts. love the straight line grip, the braking is so much better with this track. the track also gives in the corners, this helps to bring the back end around, but i did loose some on top, i think it is worth it as i dont race all that often at 100 mph, and the braking and ease in the corners make up for it. just do what i do and stop the race at 90 mph before they catch you. i would really like to try an 1.25 fully clipped predator
i was running a ripsaw with 144 1.325, i should have restudded to 1.375

I realy don't want to loose any top end as I live on the lake and high speed runs come often. I ride alot of hard pack and am a little concernd about the softer lug. I was just getting my clutch tuned in at 124mph on speedo with more ajustment left. Winter ended very fast here and I was not able to finish tunning, seems like all of you say you loose top end. I wish the hacksaw came in 1.25 lug because I would get that next. The predator is the same track as the carve and only comes with 1.25" lug in 121" length.
