Maybe thinking of purchasing a used Phazer, but not sure as of yet. Hoping to get some input from Phazer owners. I currently have 2006 Apex GT and would like to add another sled for girlfriend/buddies to ride, but not sure about which model to purchase. The Phazer is a light sled that would be easy for friends to handle. So any input would help, like engine problems :o| , ie stator, clutch, gearbox, suspension problems, ie W arms, shocks, front arms, any roll control issues, tunnel problems, cracking. Fuel milage and such. Thanks ;)! in advance for any help on this matter. :jump:

Fuel mileage is 15 if you ride it hard and 18+ if you just cruise. Get more aggressive ski's for sure, stock are junk. I added a softer sway bar from schmidt bros.that helped chassis roll a ton. With better ski's and sway bar it rails corners now. It is a quad like ride, nothing like any of the other manufacturers or your apex for that matter.. The only issue I 've had in 1400+ miles is an error code 11 which happened when my un- updated starter just spun with out turning the motor over. I'm going to have the starter update done and should be good to go. This sled once set up for your riding style is a riot.( there is a learning curve to getting comfortable on it.) The torque is addicting. It's everything but a lake racer, but at 500 cc it's not meant for that. Do a search on here and you'll find all the recalls (3), fx model has the rear link breakage problem that yamaha covers when broken. My standard model has had no rear suspension problems. I've ridden doo, and polaris 440lc racers on the trails for over 10 years and feel the phazer is very similiar. I prefer the 4 stroke torque, and fuel injection over the finicky 440's for sure. These things got to be ridden, and set up properly to be appreciated. I don't think you can go wrong. My .02 :yam:

It took some serious saddle time to get used to the phazer. It isn't like any other snowmobile out there. When my friends are sitting, I'm standing, when they are standing, I'm sitting. You really have to throw your body around and man handle the phazer. Once the learning curve is mastered, it is an absolute blast. I can't imagine riding any other sled now. The big 2 strokes are fast, but they can't use all that power on rough terrain which is where the phazer really shines. Everybody who rides it comes away amazed.

yea for 2 weeks the phazer suked then we got some deep snow and yahoo, i wish it was a little faster though lol

X2 - add good skis and put a deeper lug track on it - and it is 200% better.

I was out riding yesterday with a Crossfire7 and a 600 renegade that had a can and reeds. Although I hate riding behind 2 strokes, it was a nice leisurely ride. When I was in front, I was always waiting. I traded for about 1/2 hour with the BRP and I could not wait to get back on the phazer. I've yet to ride a sled that is not a turd compared to it. Besides from the obvious power difference (only from 60mph+) everything else just sucks. Even the Nytro is a dog compared the Phazer. After serious reservations about buying it and a shitty first 2 weeks, its the best money I've spent to date. Slydogs and 1.5" freeride track made the machine into a gem. 2200 km (1370 miles) logged so far this winter.
