Well the itch to get another sled after 7 years of not having one is just getting to much to handle. I'm thinking of coming over to the dark side (a polaris and 2 stroke guy in my past sledding life) and buying a phazer. After looking at what everyone else has to offer the phazer looks like a really good deal and a fun sled to ride. I dont need to go 120mph and refuse to pay $10,000 for a sled so the phazer looks like a good fit. My questions are, What do you like and dislike about your phazer? Are there mods you made that you think are necessary? What would you like to see yamaha change on the phazer for 2010? I've never rode one, but I would like to see them put a 1.25" track on and relocate the gauge pod. Float shocks in the rear skid would be the hotness too. What you guys think?

I have two of them and LOVE them. My 11 year old rides a GT and I have the STD. Both 2007. So far this winter we have put on over 550 miles on them and have had only one small issue. The main power wire wore through and shorted out on the frame. The whole sled died. This was right after the fan update so I'm thinking they may have moved some wires and caused the short. The dealer fixed the issue for me for free even though the sled was out of warranty.

I too do not need to go 120. I have had my STD going 85 and that was fast enough for me. I like the low end response the most. I love to stand when I ride and it is perfect for that. Sitting is comfortable too. I went from a '99 Polaris XC 500 to the Phazer.

I have ridden the Nytro and the new Ski Doo 1200 and both were amazing machines. I don't need that kind of HP where I live. The trails are fun with 80HP. I sometimes wonder what that Phazer would be like with 100HP motor. A person always wonders.

The track could be more aggressive but it works. That could be changed if one wanted too. I wonder if a different track would fix some of the slush build on the heat exchanger.

My daughter wants to ride with us now so I will be looking for another sled next season. Waiting to see what Yamaha does. She rides the STD Phazer around the yard and on the lake and does fine with it. I would need to soften it up for her. I like a stiff ride.

I'm very happy with my new RTX. I added the GT wind protection which is about all I think it needed. Its a very compliant trail ride.

I like my rtx for basically everything it gives. There are some little things that I would like to be different, like the difficulty to access the motor ect., and a little more power would be cool. And if you get the rtx, then I would run the suspension kinda soft just to keep it handling well on the trails.

I love my Phazer, has a little over 3000 miles and hasn't had any problems.

Cheap
Fun to ride
Good gas mileage
No need to put oil in it EVERY time you go out

I kind of wish it had a little more power but I've gotten mine going 90 before. Bigger lugs would be nice too. The 2007s tend to get alot of ice buildup under the tunnel adding ALOT of weight, not sure if the 08's and 09's have the same problem since Yamaha closed off the tunnel.
