so this past winter the clip that holds the throttle in the throttle block broke. Ride a 2012 nytro xtx by the way. Went to the dealer they said order a whole new assembly. I don’t want to go that route. Anyone ever run something aftermarket for a throttle and kill switch. Also probably going to go to a tether as well. Thanks in advance for the reply’s

What clip are you looking for? Number 5 the "C" clip or the clip that holds the cable in the throttle block? If it is the clip for the throttle cable I do not see that one listed in the Yamaha micro fiche. I would call Kevin at Port Yamaha who is the best parts guy in the business. If he cant help you the contact Travis at Barn of Parts (BOP) and he might have a used part. G.B.

Not the number 5 clip it’s a clip that’s inside the throttle block. I’ve looked at parts diagrams in hopes of finding one but like you posted above it doesn’t show much. Do you know anyone who runs anything aftermarket like a billet one?

It sounds like the swedge on the end of the throttle cable broke off. It would be better just to replace the entire throttle cable with a new one around $33.00. better safe than sorry out in the boondocks.

Nope took it apart and there’s a clip that’s held by 1 screw in the throttle block that broke. I have another throttle cable in the shop but I took it apart to check it out and it’s the clip that’s broken.

Ok so it's part of the block where cable is held down in block by this clip. Do you have a friend who has same machine you could see this clip and possibly just make one. Otherwise if it's anything like BMW you have to buy the whole block. Which I agree is stupid!!

Ya it’s for sure the clip I got a couple buddies with the same machine and I took on of theirs apart as well to see what it looks like. That’s the other option I was thinking as well. That or go to a different throttle block and use a retaining clip for the throttle cable kind of like Polaris does

If you come up with a solution share with us with some pics.

Ok so it is the clip with the screw that holds the throttle cable in. Check that clip with a magnet, I bet it is stainless steel. If you haven't already I would check with Travis at Barn of Parts and see if he has a used damaged throttle block off a sled. That clip more than likely is the same on all Japanese built sleds.
