This is very important to get right and will cause intermittent backfires, misses or stalling if not right especially if too tight. Much of the flash issues are actually this.
Find this nub about 1 1/4 from pivot. This is where you measure from.
Very lightly press throttle on end with one finger till you hear switch click. At that point a credit card should very easily slide between nub and throttle block.
If it doesn’t fit adjust here
Turn the bars fully left and right and check there also.
Checking in diagnostic mode is not enough.
There is still that tiny travel between switch clicking and resting against block. It must be there. If switch doesn’t click in first step you are probably too tight to begin with. Loosen and go from there.

Helped a guy out on the trail fix this, complaining it would randomly stall when letting off the throttle while turning. I'm running mine on the loose side to avoid any issues since I noticed the cable tension varies a decent amount as you swing the bars back and forth.

I’ll second the running loose. As far as I can tell, there really is no downside to running it a bit loose as long as you can still get to 100% open. If mine’s not loose, I have a significant gap left between the bar and the throttle at wide open so I’m choosing to use some of that gap for extra throttle free play to avoid the TORS shutdown.

Check mine yesterday and it was a little tight. was getting 0% and 99% before loosen it a little. and still getting 0% and 99% after. My other viper I sold would also be at 0% and 99% . never seen the 100%

Might be a dumb question but how are you getting to the adjuster? Mines sealed as one piece looks like yours is also. Feel like a idiot asking but?

I adjust freeplay om my wife's -16 RTX. Was too tight! Hot starting problems on our saturday ride. Stalling and missfire. Works better now. Maybe its something with T.O.R.S also?
Someone can explain how T.O.R.S works and how to control the function?

Ride all sunday and my wife's RTX started pefectly. No sign of hot start problems. Turn key and it fires right upp! Freeplay on loose side but still 99% tps wide open.
Very weird.. Never seen this problems on my own XTX Viper. Only on my wife's RTX.
