I have Ulmer 2 kit and aim hitting rev limiter when spining or jumping. running 10900 on avrage.I know adding washer to tips will bring me down 150. What will adding washer to middle do?? In speed and rpm drop?? THANKS

Go ahead and add to the mid.
I couldn't get my rpm up higher so I put in different primary spring.
I added 2 washers.Middle is for midrange rpm.
At 55 mph rpm was still at about 7500,same as before adding 2 middle washers.
Little more belt squeeze in the mid.Hang on.
Throw 1 in the tip and you MAY lose only 100 and not 150.Or you could lose more.Try it and see what happens for you and YOUR clutching.
Change,test,learn,go faster.

Before adding weight to your clutch, have you always hit the rev limiter, or did it start doing it as you rode more miles? My sled has a Bender clutch kit in it, and I was hitting my rev limiter as well, but I noticed that my problem was due to belt wear. If your belt has started to wear thin, you may solve your problem with a new belt. Mine was not sitting above the secondary sheave anymore. It didn't have any bumps in it or anything that would have been from burning the belt, just even wear.

I would PM Allen.
Are you saying that out of the hole it's hitting 11200-11300 then it settles at 10900 near the top?
What do the RPM'S do when you are running at 50MPH and hit it?

on the ulmer stage 2 kit, is it best to leave mid and tip open and try to adjust rpm's by heel to maintain 10,700 rpm, or is that not possible

If you are only hitting higher than that when playing off trail and jumping, etc it is simply an issue of traction. I wouldn't adjust anything. If you add more heel weight you will overshift even worse when spinning and actually slow the acceleration rate by having the RPM drop down further after it overshifts. We generally leave the middle weight out because most sleds in most conditions can not pull the extra middle weight. Tip weight is all determined by the rider weight. If you're 180 to 220 lbs rider you will probably have 1 washer in the tip. I'm 160 lbs and have a few other little add-ons on my test sled and run 3 washers in the tip and between 7 & 8 washers in the heel depending on traction & conditions.
