Just bought a 07 VK-PRO still feeling it out , sure is a tippy girl. I see Yamaha has some wide ski-skins for the skiis, just wondering if anyone has installed a set & did it help & what size did you go with?

I would try to soften your front shock in your rear suspension first.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have a vk-pro & did you also have this problem?

I have an '08 VK and I also thought it was tippy especially when the narrow skis dove into soft snow on the right side a a groomed trail. I ordered the wide ski skins from Yamaha Canada and noticed some improvement. The front floats better in real deep snow...prior to adding the skins powder snow would come over the cowling and cover me. Now this does not happen.
You cannot argue with the laws of physics...top heavy machine = tippy. 1000 pounds with gas & gear...it's not going to float in deep snow. It pulls like a tractor and grooms trails all day long while getting decent gas milage. Handling? Not so much. It would be a great candidate for the power steering option found on the large touring machines Yamaha makes.

What width skins did you go with 9" or 11". It would probably be worthwhile just to install to keep the snow from flying on the windshield & cowling. Thanks
