I have 47 miles on my sled and I was running it the past few days and noticed its smoking quite a bit. A lot more than I can remember when I put the 47 miles on it. I checked the oil and thought it looks a little grimey but should it be for only 47 miles on it? I was thinking about doing an oil change. I have a case of amsoil full synthetic but will probably put the oil the dealers use in it again till I get to my 500 miles then change oil to the amsoil.

Any suggestions on why its smoking so much? When it runs it sounds fine.

Also any one know a good oil filter for my '07 Nytro? what are you guys using for filters.

have you checked the oil level to see if its burning oil? old or bad gas could also not burn as clean as fresh gas. as for the full synthetic, i would sugest putting at least 1000-1500 miles on before switching. these motors need this time to break in properly.

I didn't fog the engine. This is my first sled and didn't know how. I used seafoam in the gas but the gas is very old so maybe that can be the problem? I know everying has different methods to store a sled. Since I didn't fog the engine I ran the sled every month if possible or on a day when the teps outside were cooler. I have a sled stand and when I run the track that's when the smoke is most noticable. The smoking just started...it hasn't been this way the whole time. My brother was over today helping me install a skidplate and he made a coment on how much smoke is coming out when I turned it on so he can hear it. I'm trying to get him interested so he would buy a sled. :4STroke:

The smoke is a whitish black. It's not smoking so much that you can't see anything...it's just enough for me to think it's smoking to much. It's hard to explain. Oil level still looks good. I did notice that I do need to add more coolant fluid though. For the coolant I just add 60/40 coolant? ...the reason I ask is bc the manual says distilled water can be added.

How cold is it out side?? If the weather has turned colder it will smoke that color while warming up.. Also the seafoam may be adding to the smoke problem.. If you only have that many miles on it I would ride it more to clean everything out then put fresh gas in. You should notice less smoke. Judge it after you ride for a few miles after starting..MM.

Take out the old gas and install fresh.

I wouldn't worry too much till you get a good ride in.

I put seafoam in all my stuff. Lawnmower, bike, sled and they all smoke a little with the seafoam. A white smoke like you said. I suck out as much old gas as I can and add fresh before I start them for the new year. Old gas into the car with half tank or more.

we had enough snow here for me to take the sled around the yard a few times and it did stall twice but started right up and ran awesome after that. I'm positive its just the gas now and from not being driven. Now I really can't wait for a good storm to hit!
