Top speed runs on lake today

I finally remembered to bring the GPS with me today. It was warm - mid 40's. Lake winnebago was flat and hard packed. we put almost 100 miles on and I tested with the GPS all day. Reset the top speed on my garmin C550. First long run about 1pm speedo said 103 and bursted to 104, GPS said 104. Kept it on all day. We put about 40 miles on and it got warmer. Snow got deeper when we went south and a little softer. Got the GPS to read 105 max speed but didn't catch the speedo.

On the way home on the west side of the lake I hit it hard for about 5 miles wide open throttle. Speedo pretty much read 103-107 the whole way. Then on the north side of the lake we hit hard melted and refrose snow. Speedo hit 113 one time and held over 110 for about a mile. I have never had it go over 111 before. GPS went up to 106. So what we concluded today is that the speedo is pretty accurate up to about 103-104 and after the track slips or something and it is a myth how fast your going....but it is a true 106 mile per hour sled. Mine is bone stock with exception of tall windshield and 135mm wheels on the outside of the skid only.

Just what do u mean by stock? Sled doesn't look stock to me. :4STroke:

are you talking bout mine??? at the time it was 100% stock...stock limiter straps, stock suspension stock everything other than 114 studs

Darenello, not questioning your honesty. Just jealous I guess. Have spent so much time on handling issues haven't had time to work on performance. You must have some king sized cahoonas to ride with a camera at those speeds. ;)!
