I bought the Nytro late in the season last year to replace the warrior I had. The Nytro suited my type of riding a lot better than the warrior ever did.

Started the mods this summer with yammie mountain skis, Ulmer 144 billet rails with a 1.75 backcountry track. A windshield from the new XTX. Pre filter covers for all the vents. This really helped last year with keeping the snow out of the engine compartment.

The heat exchanger guards had to be removed to get the track to fit in there.

The rails turned out great. They come with a 2 degree tipup in the rear. Ulmer makes good stuff. It's gonna take some serious setup to get the suspension right.

Moved the tail light to the rear to fit a gas can in there. The extension was a lot longer than I thought it was going to be. I used the tie downs from the apex on the edges of the extension

I bought a MTX riser from a member off the forum. It wasn't a direct bolt on so it was modded to pivot on the bottom as well as the top.

Some of the other thing I have done are removed all the foam from the inside of the covers and installed a slp vent cover in the panel where the clutch is. This is a great site for ideas for mods.

Sweet looking Nytro. The tipped Ulmer rails look like a hot set up. What is the SLP vent in the clutch side cover going to do for you? Thanks, G.B.

Hopefully the vent will let some of the hot air out of the clutch area. I removed the foam because last year I found they soaked up a lot of moisture and became fairly heavy. It also makes the inside of the panels real easy to clean the belt dust and brake dust off.

Do you notice anymore noise????

Haven't had a real decent chance to try it out yet. I did notice a little more noise with it idling, but not enough snow and now were in the deep freeze here in the west. Oh well at least the lakes will freeze up good.

Finally got around to installing the better boards. Hoping these will keep some of the snow build up down to a minimum.

I used a cut off blade on the trusty side grinder to hack em off

Removed pretty much all of the existing running board.

Put on the better boards and got rivet happy. An air riveter saved a ton of time. The factory side rails had to be cut a bit to fit snug. The better boards end up being roughly 1/4-1/2 narrower than the stockers.

Also got rid of that dirty stinkin cat that the wife was riding and picked up this 07 phazer mountain lite with 800 kms. One year of warranty left on her too. :4STroke:

Well it's time to start the summer mods. Like many, my sled suffered the bent subframe syndrome that was going around. Ended up with a bent subframe and bent A-arm.

The A-arm bent

I'm going to be trying the XTX skid out this year. It will take a little fab work to get it into the 08 tunnel.

The steel brackets are weak on these skids

I cut out some aluminum plates to go in between the plates

Riveted it in there

We will see how it holds

I decided to do the JB weld deal on the oil tank while it was apart

My new Better Boards showed up from Rob today. They are the ones made for the 2010 nytros

They are a little different than the 08's. wider at the front and a bit narrower at the end. The evacuation holes are also wider.

They are powder coated clear and now have the engraving on the sides. Pretty slick.

My A-arms are at Half Baked Coatings right now. I have oillite bushings for them. Just waiting on the rest of the parts to show up. I have something planned for the icing issue in the tunnel. Once the machine shop is done I will post the pics. I am looking at the skinz seat covers. Any one have input on these?

Why are you trying out the XTX skid instead of staying with the Ulmer rails?

Also, what kind of hit did you take to bend the subframe and A arms? Did you just straighten it all out and reinstall? Or did you strengthen it?

I got a really good deal on the XTX skid and cobra track. Been hearing good things about the approach angle on the XTX skid so I will give it a go.

It was a straight hit. Going less than 5mph. I was amazed that it happened in that situation. I put the sled through hell before that. I will be using the updated subframe. I replaced the A-arm. Not sure what to do about the shocks yet. Replace the one or try somthing new?
