Need some help, 16" of snow great rideing. broke the track drive shaft. The sled has 6400mi, track 144 studs, everthing stock, what did it? O its a 06 Apex GT. Its in the shop now, hope it don't happen again. thanks for any help. boone

Although not common, it does happen.
One of my buddies broke one on his 06 Apex ER right at the chaincase. He rides hard, but nothing hit the driveshaft or anything. It just fatigued and slowly cracked all the way through (you could see the rust curves where the crack had slowly grown).
His also failed right around 6400 miles (6000 miles in his case).
Since it isn't common, you'll probably be fine with a new or used Yamaha shaft.
