At 6800 miles on my turbo Viper LTX I am thinking about changing my track. I thought about the 1.6 Ice Cobra . I also thought about having it cut to 14 inches to get it to turn a bit better in the tight local trails. I ride mostly groomed trails but would like some more bite when its gets loose/fresh snow conditions. I wish there were more studs in this track.
Anyone else try this track? Thoughts on the cut down?

It will be faster cut down on hardpack for sure. Guys have really been liking the 1.5in Ripsaw 2. Mostly because it hooks and slides easily. Sounds like just what you want then maybe add studs.

I thinking about getting away from studs again. I don't really race on the lake anymore. I always fear the stud through the exchanger scenario---had more than 1 trip ruined because of this( not my sled though). I have purchased 3 ice attacks before this for various sleds with good luck. Maybe the turbo might need those studs........I am currently running 4 per bar now and fear with the mileage on the stock track they might start coming out.

With that much power it would suck to get beat because of traction. Right?

- Yamaha sr viper 15 ltx dx, mpi 190 turbo, straight line header, 38" mtx front end, mtx steering, mtx seat, xtx 141" skid and 2.25" power claw track
2019 sidewinder xtx le, sleeping for now
I have the 1.6 ice cobra in my 15' ltx dx and loving it, perfect blend of on off trail, good traction on ice and you can still power slide around the corners, 3100 miles on mine and it's just starting to show some wear, thus revealing more carbide, also have brand new ripsaw 2 take off for sale.
