Hey Guys
I am wondering if any of you can give me some advise. I would like to put extraverts on RX Mountain. But I do not have anyone around my area that does any punching and clipping of tracks. Would I be wise to cut out the 3rd window and install extravert drivers without having the clips installed? Would it be too much stress on the windows without the clips? How long do you think the track would last without the clips in the 3rd window?

Just a thought.. I value any input... you guys are awesome!!!

A Friend of mine did what you want to do, and did not put the clips in the cut-out windows. What happen is he started to loose the other clips that were in the track. He ended up putting in 40 clips. Must be to much load on the rest of the clips that remain. later

I'm in the same boat! Decisions, decisions! I plan to run Hiperfax so I removed all of my idler whells on the track (except the ones on the outside closest to the bend in the rails) to save some weight. I called hiperfax and asked their advice on this and they said I should punch AND CLIP the remaining windows. He also said to punch the windows wider than the existing windows to allow more snow to the sliders. I guess their tgermocouple testing showed a dramatic decrease in slide temps with the holes cut slightly wider (to the inside I believe). I have the info scribbled down in my garage.
So??? Buy a new track and sell yours? Punch and no clips? Punch and clip? Buy the tool to do it yourself, but it's as much as it is to have someone else do it?
I feel your pain! Unfortunately, I'm still on the fence too.
One good thing that MAY help you decide. Camoplast has several new tracks coming out in Dec-Jan. There's a 2 5/16" paddle track and I hear a 2 1/2" as well. Maybe you should wait and get a new one and sell yours? I ride a good portion of the time on the trail so a 2.5" is overkill but I think I could talk myself into the 2 5/16". Let me know what you do. I need direction too  Powder Blue
