Hey I'm putting my ripsaw in, I've got a stupid question, Which side are the drivers supposed to drop out from? I've got the bearing off from the Speedo side, do I just take the C-clip out of the Shaft on the chaincase side and slide it over? Thanks for your help.

Yes, I had to beat the shaft over hard enough to get the bearing out. It's pretty tight in the case. Don't forget to get the oil seal back in place behind the bearing when you reassemble.

I was not aware that this could be done without taking the chaincase apart and removing!? It is not that difficult to remove all of this, I think it is the best way to do the job...then again I thought it was the only way!

You do have to compleatly disasembel the chain case on the right side and loosen the set screw's on the bearing, two of them, they are #20 torx and the shaft will slide to the right out of the bearing far enough to clear the left side and come down, if you loosened the set screw's the shaft uaualy does not slide to the right to hard, you may have to tap it a little, you also have to remove the inner half of the chain case frome the tunnel . Hope this helpe's. KVIPER

Thanks, this definitely turned out to be more work than I thought. Is there set screws on the bearing inside the chaincase too? I've got the one off on the speedo side

No, none on the chaincase side. It is easiest to just take the chaincase completely apart and remove it from the sled. You then have plenty of room to do whatever you want. It is not really that complicated, just take your time and pay attention to how everything comes apart and lay the parts out in the order they go back. Dont forget about the drain plug for the chaincase which is inside the tunnel, it will prevent you from making a big mess inside the sled.

I didn't take the whole chaincase off, just the outside cover. Took the keeper off that holds the drive axle bearing in the chain case, loosened the two allen screws on mag side bearing, then pushed the chaincase side bearing out. Then the shaft dropped right out.
