Help with a buddies nitro last night if you open that chaincase you have to deal with the reverse gear. Doing the viper next , I read the link provided here and it Doesn't mention anything about the servo or reverse gear or any of that. Does that all stay intact when pulling the cover?

Yes sir as stated remove the servo first and then the filler plug that goes in the chain case that way you can see how it is all sitting in there...I did mine on a 1100 turbo which is the same other then the chain tensioner and I took lots of pics when I first opened it and with those it was a snap to put back together..

You'll have to remove the servo motor for sure since this is where u fill the chaincase with oil. It's very simple. 2 electrical couplers and 3 star drive screws and u got it. When I reinstalled mine I had to slightly preload the servo motor in a counterclockwise turn to get it to line up with the screw holes. Not sure if preloading is completely necessary but I needed to on mine and it all works great

Yes it is necessary! If you get it in there without clocking it your drive WILL jump out of gear.
