2009 Nytro xtx
I am having some weird wear that I have never seen before where the clips would normally be on a track. The tack is stock 2009 xtx with about 4000 miles and have the upgraded hyfax from Yamaha. The cords are showing a little on both hyfax areas the left and right. Is this normal / ok to run. No chunks gone just seems worn down a little. Last track I had on my attack had 14,000 miles but was fully clipped so that might be difference.

My track is same issue. 9100 mi. Been like it since about 6500mi. Regular slides. Think the duponts need to be run with full clipped track????

I don't think they do. Haven't read any where they do. I felt them and they felt smooth.

on the edges of the windows, it is fine. where the sliders hit it, no. could we see a pic to be sure?

that is bad. you will need to clip that track to keep it from getting worse or replace the track. my clipped every 3rd track did something similar and as it had started shedding paddles i replaced it.

Anything special I need to know about clipping the track. Never done it before

buy the tool for the job as it sucks to do without one and make sure you buy the right clips for the track as there are a few different ones that do not interchange.

Stock ripsaw do you know what clips I would need and how many?

sry i do not know how many you will need. all i know is when i did the ice ripper that was like yours 7 years ago (dang getting old), the camoplast clips where different than other track clips as it took 2 trips to get the right ones.

My little experience with clipping tracks taught me do not buy the ones with holes in the running surface. If you do not get them on exactly right they are like running sandpaper on your hyfax.
