Got 2500 miles on sliders I want to replace them ,the new slides are about 1.25 inch wide like the old, will they go through the windows in track or do I have to remove the whole skid in a 2006 vector Gt, I hate removing skids .

you just open 2 windows up with a utility knife and do it there every time. Maxdlx

Yes you can force them through the track windows. Lube the track window and it will be easier. Since you have reverse, pull out the sliders about 6 inches through the windows, start the sled, put in reverse and hit the throttle. The sliders will pop off like nothing.

Well I think that will work putting it reverse will strip the slider off for sure.I guess to put them on I use a rubber mallet and lube the track should work ok the other thing is do you know if its the same with a 2006 nytro ER I have to do the same job on it to

Make sure you remove the front screw first. lOL Maxdlx

I've been pulling skids out of sleds since the mid 80's.
It always kicked my butt lining up the last two bolts to go through the tunnel. I would be on my back wrestling and prying to get them to line up. Last weekend I was working on my wifes Ski-Doo and tried something new. After getting the front two bolts in I took a screwgun with a socket adapter on it and tightened the hell out of the track. It compressed the whole suspension down and I was able to align the bolts with ease. Twenty years of struggling and I finally figured out a trick. You might want to try this on your Vector. My rage suspension is on the garage floor right now and I'll be trying it this weekend!!

If you put a ratchet strap around the upper and lower part of the skid then tighten, you'll be able to line the holes up easy.!!!

I used a chain hoist to raise and lower the back of the sled, works great, once you get the skid set inside the track and attach the front, just lower the rear of the sled into position.

I use the winch on the 4 wheeler running thru a pulley haging from a roof truss in the garage to lift the sled. Works great.

Does it fit through the window?
