Hi guys I think I am going to get a trail tank this year for my Nytro. Before I do has anyone had any issues with theirs? Overheating? Poor fitment? Leaking? or any other issues? Thanks in advance.

I've had good luck with mine, but only used it for one season so far. The only thing i can say at all is that if you fill it to the top, it will send gas peeing out your overflow tube, so you gotta leave it just shy of full. Not a big deal. Love the added confidence with the extra gallons. The new version with the Dzus is awesome. You may have some gaps where your hood paneling meets up with the center panel that sits on top of the gas tank. If you are the type of person that has to have it be perfect, probably a no-go for you.

I put one on last year also.. fits alittle tight but other than that no issues... The extra mileage you can get is a good piece of mind, before I had mine I was always worried about where to get next fuel, all good now.. And yes do not overfill.. I have the second gen with thumb screw, they do come loose, lost one on my last ride last year.

Works fine just stays on full longer... :)

Quality product. The new ones with the dzus fasteners fit better than the older ones. As stated overfilling will force gas out the overflow. I have used a trail tank on 3 different Nytros for over 10,000 miles no issues. The radiator needs to be shimmed with washers on the older tanks to prevent the fan from hitting the tank. The new tank seams to have more clearance. Make sure you turn the ingnition coils so the wire plug doesn't rub the tank.

I am about to have one installed in a few weeks and will post how it all turned out, but , I am told that to change plugs seat and tank all have to come off. I will replace the plugs while it's all apart and hope that lasts for awhile.

I saw some pics looks like it sits real close to the plugs. if you had to change a plug which is rare I know can you do it without having to move the trail tank back?

I don't know about the new ones but, the one I have you can't change plugs without tanking the tank off.

The fasteners are definitely the worst part, and as stated earlier, they've gone to dzus with the latest version of the Trail Tank so shouldn't be a problem for anyone who buys a new one. Funny, I just literally 2 minutes ago ordered the parts to do the Grizz snap upgrade to my trail tank. Lining up the thumb screws is definitely a pain, and some of them tend to vibrate loose as you ride so need to be checked often. This will hopefully solve that problem for me.
