Some video from a ride last week. Still have a bit of a push at high speeds even w/ the C and A's, but I am working to fix that already. This was the first real good run w/ the turbo kit installed, and I am pretty happy so far. It's not light's out on the good running 800's, but its pretty fast and has the edge. But, if you screw up or get a bad line, you're going to be playing catch up. If anything there seems to be a little bit of inconsistency between even back to back runs where you can pull on one run, but not the next. I also have to say the revalve from Monster is ridiculous. It's not even the same sled, and everyone that rides it loves the suspension set up.

The first bit is trail running, then there is some good powerline runs w/ the 15 doo 800.

What type of speeds u seeing on those long wot runs? I've ran against several 800's now and in any type of a roll on race the turbo viper will walk right away no problem. I don't want to sound negative, I'm sure it's fast, but it should be a decent amount faster I think.

When I raced a turbo Viper the first time it was a little different than your outcome. I got beat pretty good. I'm also 250 pounds. When I did some work on mine and raced another trail turbo Viper it was way closer. I lost, but only by a sled length to 1 1/2 sleds. Up to around 100 MPH. So the trail turbo is definitely fast!! Neither could keep up with me on the trails...but the snow dust is sometimes a killer. My Polaris Pro X 800 H.O. Runs really good! Over 2000 miles on er and zero problems and no complaints!!
Both guys I raced against are atleast 50 to 90 pounds lighter than me...

I like the Axys alot but its not perfect. Vibrates alot even at speed and is a very cold sled. On the one I rode with Walker Evans clicker shocks the rear suspension was bottoming/clanking constantly even clicked all the way up,Stock it pushed in corners even with me hanging off and forward like a Monkey(corrected with carbide change). Pluses: Perfect clutching, felt smaller than a Phazer very fun gettting air,Light, Loved the LED headlight and seating position was very nice and front end took anything perfectly, loved the easy transfer.

That video racing looked just like my past trip with a 15 Axys. My Viper is NA. No Turbo. Turbo should kill that thing.

Gotta agree, if either sled is stock or even lightly modded, that turbo should still put lengths on the 800's

i am at 5.5-6 lbs boost, 240 dressed, and walk away from 800s with ease. top is about the same, i have them by 1 0r 2 mph. stock gears. they're speedos read 110 and i was gaining on them at 103 on mine, i top at 105-107 on excellent trail conditions. this was on a good cold day. the turbos love cold air! trails look sweet by the way.

Hey guys. Just rolling thru marquette.

I am running ulmers clutching. I am about 240 lbs, but the doo rider is about the same size. We did run with a couple apexs and it beat them pretty bad. I will say I was running about 84-8500 a lot initially and have tried a couple things to fix that. Speeds were between 90-100. I did just put the mpi lightweight silencer on and that actually seemed to pick it up several hundred rpms. We'll be riding here within about an hour with a couple more 800 doos and a 800 switchback. I'll let u know how it goes.

What have you been running for rpms? Afr readings? I also changed up some skid calibration to get some more speed out of it.

Mine really likes to run 88-8900 rpm, if you're running low that's really hurting it. At wot I like to keep the afr right around 11 or a tad under if possible. I suspect that top speed between the turbo viper and 800's are probably close, but mid range it should jump out pretty good on them

I'm running same 88-8900, afr is 10.4-10.7 depending on temp. i have hauck clutching tuned by myself. i always skip digits to 100 then it depends on snow conditions.

Ya I agree it should skip digits all the way up to 100 if you're hooking up and on a good surface. I got on a plowed snow covered road last night straight and flat for probably atleast a mile, I was convinced I was gonna top it out, got into the gas, skis just barely skipping on the ground and started veering to the right so I just backed off, that and it's scary how fast it gets there, looked down before I let off and only seen 3 numbers, 94, 97 and 101..that's a matter of 5 seconds or less from a 30 mph roll..haven't been scared of a sled before but this at times is pretty scary. Stock 800 shouldn't be any contest, that is if you're hooking up good and running right.

I'm a little suspect about how stock the 2 other sleds are in the video. Keep in mind I'm running the 4.5 psi kit.

So for clutching I'm running ulmer setup with 3-0-3 in the weights and 6-1 on the sec. @Studroes144 how are you set up? I'm thinking about pulling a washer or two out of the tip for tomorrow. This afternoon I was seeing a lot of 8500ish and occasionally 8700-8800, but it would take s while to get there. Top speeds weren't great, but it was really loose conditions. It would stop pulling in the low 90s. On hard pack 100 is no problem.

I also backed the center shock preload way off to get some ski pressure, but I think the negative is it seems like there is a lot of ski drag.

Let me know what you guys think. I'm up here for 3 or 4 days.

What's your thoughts on extra weight in the clutch making it close/shift faster at a lower rpm vs lighter weight at higher rpm (more mph?) but maybe your not closing the clutch as fast?

I'm running a completely stock secondary, stock helix and spring, 6-1 wrap, primary I have opo spring with D&D magnaforce weights at around 70 grams total weight, and it flat out rocks! I have a few different helix's a throw in here and there but I have real good luck with the stock 43 helix. If you're only pulling 8500 then there's a lot left on the table for performance, I'd take some weight out of your weights until you're pulling 88-8900 consistently..just remember that with more miles you'll continue to make a bit more power so you'll have to add weight back to keep it from over revving. The last few hundred miles I've only been running at 4 pounds, and it'll walk away from stock and lightly modded 800's, turn it up more and it just gets faster.
