Hey guys.
Im trying to adjust my transfer rod. I've lost the wrench and am using channel locks pliers and am not having luck loosening the lock nut. It is tightened on there quite well. Which way should I be turning to loosen? Just want to make sure as I making a mess of the aluminum and it doesnt want to break free. With the pliers/wrench on the top, I should be turning to the right side of the machine, correct?

Sitting on the machine as orientation......yes, turn it to the right. I typically get on the left side of the machine, take a chisel or good flat screwdriver, a mallet, and tap pretty hard into the grooves of the rod to loosen it. On the left side of the machine you'll do this away from you. Pliers or similar will work as well.

I used to forget which way until I took a permenant marker and drew an arrow facing up with an "L" (Loosen) on the left side, and a arrow facing up with a "T" (Tighten) on the right side.

Righty tighty lefty loosey.

Correct, but when you're on either side of your sled, the orientation can be confusing. That cliche' only works if you're directly in front of the control rod and facing towards the back.......which is impossible since you'd have to be inside the skid.

It doesn't matter where you are, you the adjuster nut screws into the barrel to the right from the rod end. Just picture it in your head.

Got it finally. Had to lay on the penetrating fluid (50/50 acetone +atf) for a few hours. Standard rotation, btw
Thanks
