Anyone know of any concerns for an 84"x54" ramp? I curious about the weight of a 4 stroke and keeping the tailgate on my truck... I'm picking up my new viper saturday and the dealer is quite a distance from my house and the only way I can get it back to my house and my truck is to load it in the back... I really don't want to remove tailgate because its all wired up with rear camera and whatever other wires go through it.

I use a Revarc ramp (and riser) for my Viper MTX 141" and it works great. I have a 2016 F-150 and the aluminum tailgate works just fine with it. I do have a drop in bedliner which works great for hauling a sled.

I would not worry at all unless your tailgate is really flimsy.

When I brought mine home I put put 2 peices of 2x8 of wood under the track the length of the box to support sled on tail gate..
But that was me being paranoid of damaging my tailgate..lol
My dealer loaded sled in box of truck with a forklift.. most dealers have a drive on ramp in there yard.
Once home back up to a snow bank and pull it off...

I have a generic 72" x 50 trifold and the only Issue I have is traction because the the center only has 14.5" wide bars, works for my phazer, but not so well for friends sleds. I use this on my 12' F150 with a 6.5' box. I have a 4x8 sheet of plywood with a 2x4 facing down on the back to protect the lip of the tailgate. Also added 2x4's the whole length just inside the skis for guides. Simple to make and kills 2 birds with 1 stone, protecting the bed from carbides/studs and takes some weight off the tailgate.

Same here generic Trifold on 07 Tundra no issues. I like your plywood idea. Studs did do a number to the Rhino Lining. Peeled some off.

Those are the same dimensions as the ramp I bought earlier this year at Canadian Tire. It holds up me and my heavy 4 stroke sled just fine. It has a 1500 lb capacity according to the manufacturer specs. I've always been more concerned with the tailgate cables holding up more than the ramp.

I don't haul my sleds in the bed. I haul firewood in racks (1/2 face) with fork lift pockets so I point load the bed floor Starting with my 2012 and for every truck from here on out I take a sheel of 1/2" marine plywood, stain it black and it rides in the truck indefinitely. Green treat will warp, marine has the good glue and will last. My bed is lined with a Linex type hot liner as well.

I have use the same 96" trifold with no truck issues. I have an 8 ft bed with bed liner. Only note I have with the ramp is my Pics have punctured some holes in aluminum cross over tubes. Buy the stud protectors with the ramp if you are studded.

Thanks for all the info and responses everyone! I picked up my sled, only had to use the ramp to get it out of the truck since the dealer dropped it in the bed with a fork lift. Funniest part was trying to get it out, sled was frozen I guess from the bath they gave her at the dealer... I was going nuts thinking I was missing something on how to release parking brake!!??!! 15mins later, a few shakes, swear words, belt roatation by hands and knocking the brakes a bit, she back out right down the ramp beautifully! Can't wait for first ride tomorrow... maybe tonight! Lol

I picked up this Caliber Pro ramp and it works awesome. Its great for driving solo and not wanting to take a trailer. Saves about $25+ in tolls a trip and easy to setup.
