I've never seen this problem before. 2012 Vector. Both trip odo's reset to zero every time the ignition is switched off and restarted. The main odo works fine and accumulates mileage like it should, just the trip odo's reset. Anyone seen this before? Any ideas?
Thank you.
Thank you.

sounds like a weak battery or bad connection causing it to reset. i have reset the clock on my apex a few times staring it at -30 to -40 c as it pulled the battery down that far.

Thanks, but new battery, clean connections, and it does it every time, even indoors in heated garage.
Also, both trip odo's work fine while running, and accumulate kms. But they reset to zero every time ignition is shut off.

Mr. Hungwell,
Can't offer you anything in regards to your odometers but I'd like to pass on that we at TY are happy to hear young Stubby is subject to adult supervision, clearly a large job. Welcome to TY.

Had the pod off last fall when the battery was replaced but I just unplugged the harness, not right at the speedo, so I could check that. If need be, I may plug another pod on it. I keep thinking it's the speedo that stores the odo info, not the ECU, but you could be right: check the simple stuff first.
Thanks.
Thanks.

BTW, thank you YukonMP for your welcome. Actually I was on here under anudder name for a number of years, going back to my RX-1 days. There was some kind of disconnect with my password so I've just been lurking for a while.
Good to be back.

Is it possible that the button used to reset the mileage is stuck in and resetting everytime? Just a thought.

it sound like the constant power to the speedo is not making contact the odometer is hard memory you can disconnect power from speedo for 3 months and plug it in again even to a different sled and it will show same mileage but the trip and clock are soft memory and need constant power to stay. Is the clock resetting to 12 every shut off too? if not then maybe you have something internally wrong with the speedo I have heard of a few that failed that way and even read a post where a guy opened it up and fixed it. I think that was on a Nytro.

Thanks Thor452. Just getting back into this issue now. Clock works fine, so I assume constant power is good. I'm thinking it's internal, and I can swap another speedo in to check. I'll let y'all know what I find.

I wanted to update this, after a few real rides. All I did was to unplug the big plug on the back of the speedo and reconnect. Trip 'A' now works fine. So maybe just a bad connection, I thought. But Trip 'B' is not accumulating kms/miles when I'm on Trip 'A'. Haven't tried riding with Trip 'B' on yet, in case they both quit again. At least this way I've got one trip odo to guage fuel mileage on long trips.
