Trying to start up after 2+ years

Good luck man. Fingers crossed. I'm rooting for ya.

Compression tester and spark plug tester will be here monday so I wont have much to work on besides the suspension.

Tester is here and I'm testing the 4th cylinder because it's the easiest to get to and I'm getting 30 psi. It's not very easy to get my tester into the engine so maybe it isn't seated too well. What kind of psi should I be looking for? I know it's 100 in order to get combustion.

Welp I hate to say it but I think cylinders 1, 2, and 4 are toast. Retested them a couple times and the only one that read anything of good value and thathe was cylinder 3 @ 120psi, the rest read 30-40 psi. That either means my rings are shot or my valves are stuck wide open. I also noticed the new plugs I put in where still shiny as could be, so maybe I'm also not getting spark after all. Bad day in the snowmobiling world.

in the case of those #, i would pull the valve cover next and check the clearances. i hope for you it is just a stuck valve or 3.

Looks like I'm out for the year again...time to drain the tank...again.

put a battery . The sound on your video tell the story.

New battery, just a little drained from trying to start. Charges up and winds much faster. Compression test is telling my stuck valves. 3 cylinders at 30 and 1 at 120? No way it's rings in 3 and not 4.

Shouldn't it be around 120 per cyl in these sleds?

I've got between 140 and 145 in a turbo with reduced compression and 25,000 on it. 120 sounds real low to me.

It is possible trying to start the sled so many times has worn down the rings a bit since there would be a lack of oil. I did put some 2 smoke oil down there just to lube things up a bit. Haven't done the compression test with oil though. Just going to pull the cam cover off and see if those valves are stuck...if not well off comes the jugs and in go turbo rated pistons.

Sounds like valves to me. If your plugs were that rusted, the sled must have had alot of condensation around it. Valves most likely rusted open. Hopefully not too far the piston hit them. I always start my sleds at least once a month on off season. Easy 10 minute maintenance. Plus if there is a problem, I get it fixed before the snow flies.

I don't think so.
When I had a Warrior it was 180 + or - a couple of lbs.
Head shimmed Supercharged RX 1 was around 150 ish.
I tested these myself.
125 was stock compression on the old Red Head Triple 2 strokes
