Looking for advice on where to stay in the area. We're from Northern Indiana and normally go to the UP in Michigan and this would be our first trip to NY and want to leave possibly tomorrow (Thursday). We'd like to ride from our lodging and have a bar/restaurant close for the evenings. Thanks for any advice.

The Edge Motel is right on the trail system and has a nice bar/restaurant. I have never personally stayed there because I live in the area, but have always heard good things. Also very easy to get to.

It's hard to beat the Ridge View Lodge for accommodations. It's just off the hill, easy to get to, has plenty of parking, clean affordable rooms, new restaurant, free breakfast and the owners are very friendly. I've been there many times with no complaints.

Edge Motel, and ridge View both are nice accommodations. Edge motel has gas right next door. Only problem with the Edge Hotel, and Ridge View is they are both off the main part of the Hill, and it can be tough getting to them if the snow is low. Timber view or Montague Inn are better choices when the snow is low. Most of the area is suppose to get 10 or more inches if snow tonight. If Western NY has snow off of Lake Erie, that area would be about 4 or 5 hours driving time closer to Indiana, but I have never ridden out in that area, so I know nothing about where to stay or where the best trails are.

There is more snow right now than there was to ride up on the hill last year. They groomed the trail to the Ridge View Monday. I live next door. With the snow coming tonight and tomorrow it will be great.

Make sure they have lots snow before you make the trip. You could also check out Chautauqua and cherry creek areas. It's closer and have real nice trails
