Looking for some information about tuner skis on Apex XTX. What are your opinions about these skis for aggressive trail riding. Are they better or worse than most other trail skis ? What other skis would you recommend if you feel they are not good enough for aggressive trail riding ?Not looking to spend a fortune .

I think they work fairly well for the average trail rider on groomed packed trails and not all that great in deep lake affect type snow for holding your line.

i've been running them on my XTX for the past 2 years and really like them. i trail ride aggressive and with the dual 6" carbides i find they do as advertise and handle great. best $200 i spent, even with the long track it holds the line well and eliminated the little darting that it did have with the stock units. one nice thing with the eps, you can load the front with weight to handle better and not notice it.

tuners are a great ski they work well but the best set up is to keep stock skis and put snowtrackers on them.

Glad to hear that they do work well,I believe they may not be the best skis out their but for the conditions I ride mostly trail ,they should foot the bill, and their priced fairly.Few friends of mine also recommend the pilot skis they claim to work well but i noticed they seem to wear out quickly as well from what I see from there sleds.i have a set of Slydog powderhound skis on my other Yamaha, they seem to work very well ,easy steering effort and turns well in the corners with Shaper bars ,but those are more money to spend.I think these should be the ticket the way you stated they work for you.i've been running them on my XTX for the past 2 years and really like them. i trail ride aggressive and with the dual 6" carbides i find they do as advertise and handle great. best $200 i spent, even with the long track it holds the line well and eliminated the little darting that it did have with the stock units. one nice thing with the eps, you can load the front with weight to handle better and not notice it.

Snow trackers were the best for me tuners are to pushy and when the carbide wears not so good. That is what I like about the trackers they always stay sharp, until they are wore out of coarse.Looking for some information about tuner skis on Apex XTX. I'm in the same boat but looking to put them on my 2007 Attak GT. I have heard the Snowtrackers corner and dart the least. I know there was some controversy with that article I read about dangerous situations with the ST's how they can catch rocks, etc easier and there are people who say that is nonsense. I have also looked into other skis and this gets thrown around so much...."what's the best"??
I ride around here (Mpls) when there is snow but my other destinations are the UP and northern Wisconsin. One of the skis that comes up the most as an alternative that I have heard the most favorable for my sled is the Curves. I have a friend with Sly Dogs Powderhounds and he does have issues with darting on the trails. Another pretty good alternative and I have owned them on other machines and a friend has them on an Attak is the SLP Powder Pro. I wouldn't mind trying a set of those again. Sold them off the 2s Viper because they did not match my red Attak.

I have seen a guy roll his sled with those on... they are not for me.
