Tuner skis any good ?

Thanks Mr Sled!

I have read of those things happening. I am leaning towards Curves or the SLP's.

What has been your favorite ski on these machines? Not best.....just what you like?

I have always had snowtrackers semi agressive and agressive now semi's again only thing I noticed is rail road tracks. When crossing a track if I was at a bit of an angle and I didnt have a firm gril the handlebars the trackers would almost track the rails on the ground. But with a frim grip on the bars rode over them no problem. I have never had any issues with rocks or anything trail wise with my trackers or even loading on or off the trailer. I Love them no darting at all and handle great. I went with the agressive trackers before because in loose snow the handling was sloppy wit hthe semi's. the difference is the carbide lenght 6'' vs 8'' I may run those again when the semi's I have now need replacing. We'll see how the new sled handles with the changes and EPS.

I'm well into my second set of centers and on orig u blades with no issues. if you change the center when its worn the u blade should last forever in theory.

I like the curves with slim Jim duallys that's been my fav for the last few years.

Did not like the Tuners at all. Couldhave been my carbide set up . They darted and they were all but useless off trail on my Attak. Stock skis with duallies worked better and also my SLP SLT's.

I ran the tuners all last season on my Attak and IMO they are just "OK" in my books.
I am going to try Simmons Gen 1s on my sled this year...hopefully it will be closer to the handling my 144" long travelled SRX gives me.

I found a few sets of Curves on ebay.

Any suggestions on a good place to purchase those?

I assume this is the Curve XS model ski......

I've tried the stock skis with shims and the tuners. Darting was still present. Went to Snowtrackers and will never go back. Way better.

I ran into some guys on the trail that ran the Simmons Gen 1 skis. They said that these in addition to pulling the strap down 1 hole made their sleds rail. They felt these skis were the best addition they made. I run pilots with dual carbides. I do go thru a set of carbides every year, but there is a lot of road crossings and shared trails in VT.

How do you like your pilot skis as far as handling and darting ? Is your track picked and what carbides are you using for trails ?

They were a marked improvement. I have the pilot 5.7 skis. Need to make sure you install a carbide or wear bar on the outer edge. They don't come with them when new. If not they will wear right down. I ran shaper boy single carbides for a few years but still had darting. Went to shaper dual carbides last year and what a great change that was. This year I'm going to run the Woody's Slim Jim dual carbides. The are spaced further apart the regular dual ones. I had s few thing get wedged in between the first set. They don't do spectacular in the powder though on this heavy sled, but I run a 121" so it strictly trail riding for me.
