My wife bought me an early Christmas present. Tuner skis and Bergstrom skegs! Scott Bergstrom recommended 8" triple points on the inside and a hard bar on the outside. Anybody else running this combination? Now if Santa would just bring me some snow!

I ran the same combination last year on my 2012 Apex XTX and plan on using them this year. Very happy with the way they turn and zero darting.

Did someone recommend that set-up? Both my Yamaha dealer and Bergstrom told me that you only want carbide on the inside bar.

Wouldn't the triple points on the inside be the same as the carbide on the inside?

Yes, my triple points are my inside runner carbide. My outside runners are just hard weld.
My question was directed to Tomanytoyz as he is running 4 " of carbide on both the inside and the outside runners.

Just curious, if the tuner skis were designed to stop darting why are they still recommending to use shims and ski savers with them? Doesn't seem to make sense to me.
I ran the past couple years Accord Racing Snow Studs Double Downs with 6in per bar (12in) per ski and i love the way it handled ! I figured since the Duellies are a little narrower (carbide to carbide) than my new tuners (carbide to carbide) that 4in would be ok.i know that i need to test and tune, but will start with this set up. i could put Woodys Duellies in between my old Duellies, there are that much wider.the way a machine is set up has alot to do with the handling, some may say its to aggressive ,but i may say its not ? i can pull out a carbide and put in another and fine tune it,this is so cool !.

I purchased them from Kevin at Port Yamaha and he said that i should be fine? skis and carbide, but i always do my own thing

Have the tuners on my SRX with Yamaha carbides. Worked so good that I knew I needed new skis for my 09 Apex. Decided on the Stealth in the end but I don't think you'll be disappointed with the Tuners.

Strange that you Yamaha dealer is recommending different than Yamaha corp? Depending from ridding style you do start with a carbide on the inside bar. But they recommend one on the outside if you need more aggressive.
Bergstrom recommends only one bar with their carbide. Which goes against what most end up having when I searched on any dual keel skis... What is right or wrong is hard to tell. Kimpex (for their Stealh skies anyway) also recommends only one blade with carbide. But what I find stranger is they say to place it on the outside of outside ski. Yet they make the Tuner ski for Yamaha so why the different setup. Granted their are different skis but to me this shouldn't affect where the bite of the carbide needs to be.

Stealth ski

Just for fun here we have the popular Snow trackers. Why don't all carbides are the same type with self sharpening?

Mmmm..... Interesting. I will try what Bergstrom sold me and see how I like it. I trust that he is just not trying to sell me what I don't need to make more money or he would have sold me four carbide runners rather than just two.
