Whats with the tuner skis? I have a 14 LTX and a 15 LTX turbo and I do not like the tuner skis at all? 6" Woody's Ace bars on the inside and stock 4" on the outside and its not even close to my 14 with Slim Jims//
What am I missing? I hate spending $14,000 on a sled that darts and handles terrible! I have owned a t least a dozen Yamaha sleds over the years and know that they have always struggled with there skis. Im kind of a Sno Tracker guy! Am I missing something with the Tuner Skis?

I have stud boy 6" shaper bars on inside and out, studded up the centre and works mint. I had Yamahas all my life, this is the best sled that I have owned.

I tried the Woodys 6" Ace on both inside and out and did not care for them... I absolutley love this sled also, just not sure about the skis?

Try putting some ski pressure on front that's what I did and work for me love it

The tuner is not necessarily a bad ski, but it just does not have the aggressive bite that most want. The Sno trackers may well fix this, but I gave up on them. You can't polish a turd.

Take all the money you are going to waste on getting tuner skis to only half suck. Buy a set of aftermarket skis, Curve, C&A's or Mohawks or whatever. You won't believe the difference, and don't take my word for it. Do a search on here about aftermarket skis.

^^^^^^^ what he said

Like what they said^^^
I have C&A razors with 6" carbides...night and day difference on my 15 LTX

If darting is your issue and you don't want to spend more money on new skis, check your ski alignment. The skis should be toed out 1/8-1/4 inch. If they are toed in, then you will dart, sometimes dangerously so.

Tuner skis are garbage, for women who are scared of darting. Just go out and spend the money on some C&A pros you'll be happy you did.

I don't fine the Tuner Ski bad on my machine (stx DX 146 , track 15 x 146 x 1.25 ribsaw. ). I run 6" square on inside and the stock 2" round on out side. I get very little darting and holds the line fine for me. Now in the powder there's not a lot of flotation but i still get by with them. I broke trail after a storm the other day in 2 to 3 ft of fresh powder 40 km and never did to bad.

You can make them work well. Check toe out, 6 in shaper bars inside and out and loosen the center shock spring 2 turns. If you want the ultimate trail setup get a set of curves and some slim Jim duallys. I switched to those this year and couldn't be happier.

One thing you can't get with the tuners is ease of steering. I have my ski pressure so light it like steering a bicycle, any conditions it goes where you want it too. It does dart some but who cares I want the control, darting is a non issue for real sledders.

Good info guys... Again, spent $14,000 on a Sled that you have to put new skis on is kinda stupid? Yamaha never was real good at skis IMO. I will check the toe out that may be part of the problem?
