tunnel block off heat damage?

Just curious if anyone has blocked off the tunnel completely to eliminate the ice build up problem, but then had issues with heat damage because the muffler is basically sealed off?

Never heard of a problem

Heat damage to what? Pipes run right along side motorcycle fairings without issue and those are in hot summer temps.
