On my MCX setup the back end is already closed, but the sheald protecting the "heat wrap bandage" did not hold and the bandage did not take the snow and broke.
So now i have closed up the front end useing perforatet alu, hopeing for a bit of cooling.
Any thoughts?
Will add a picture from under the tunnel when i have a chance to take one.
Seems that it gets a bit hot under the gasstank, dont remember how hot it was before the install. How hot is youres after a short run?

3 seasons blocked off and zero issues. Remember, heat rises so having a perforated plate may just allow snow 'dust' to enter and ice it up.

same here. both holes covered, & have header wrap to the muffler.
there was a thread on venting the seat frame that may help your situation. it's only 1 or 2 pages back.

Ruckus and xt_gt do you guys have turbos and blocked both holes in the tunnel?

There is an aluminum tape designed for those types of applications that can be used to go over the wrap that would help to protect it. Available at automotive stores/marine retailers/ or possibly heating/ventilation suppliers. I used some when I extended the exhaust on my VL but it is not exposed to the ice and snow so I can't say how durable it is.

No turbo here. Exhaust wrap lasted for 3 years as well. Mine had aluminum side panels with louvers. I trimmed up the heat rubber and drilled holes in the shield under the tank to allow for more side venting. Best thing I ever did. I found a lot of water/ice coming down the sides at that area.

no turbo. just blocked off holes, wrapped the pipes, & put it back together. no side panels either.
