I am considering doing a straight tunnel dump ie no muffler, just a straight pipe into the tunnel after the turbo. Has anyone done this and is it loud to the point of being un-rideable? I'm young and dumb so I don't mind loud, I just don't want a headache after every ride. :drink:

Have ordered a tunnel dump with my CR tunnel. Have everything else, just waiting for them to get the tunnels done so we can finish. Same deal with my son's sled, sitting mostly finished, waiting on the tunnel. Will let you know how it sounds once it's done.

Cool, once I get the turbo installed, I will make up the tunnel dump with crappy steel and if I like it, redo it with stainless. Thanks for the opinions, guys. :4STroke:

CR racing has a cool tunnel dump kit, I'm getting one put on with my CR tunnel, Darko had one on his Nytro last year, worked awesome. Keeps the heat away from the air filter on the MCX kit, which causes ice buildup.

I believe CR's tunnel dump will only work with the CR tunnel. I think the heat exchanger is in the way with the stock tunnel.

I read some where that you lose hp putting the exhuast dump in the tunnel...... JFYI

The first mcxpress mufflers for the phazer would dump straight down in the hole in the tunnel this proved to cause problems so they added a extension that would angle to the rear of the sled to fix the problem. I was planning on running a straight pipe out the back but if your exhaust works I will have to try it.

I think you lose hp if you put the tunnel dump in facing the rear. Windage from the track increases backpressure? One of the first MC's that I put on a Phazer ran like crap as it was pointing down into the tunnel. I was told that a forward facing tunnel dump alleviates the problem. Will see I guess, I can always change it if it seems to have less power than my last setup. Also we have 2 identical setups this year, so can make changes to 1 and compare, if necessary.

I ran one on my Vector for 2-yrs no problems, I have one on my Nytro now and had no issues last year. Both systems had straight pipes and the exhasut note was reduced compared to the std rear exhaust outlet.

i dumped the exhaust with muffler under the tunnel on my MCX Nytro. Also have an impulse nytro in my garage and you can't talk when the impulse is running and can easily have a conversation when the MCX is running.
