Tunnel Mount ICE SCATCHERS

just use a threaded "j" bolt to hold them up, with a nut on top and bottom of running board, and threads cut flush with nylock nut. they will never self-deploy again.

I've actually never thought of running these in the past but I think I may put a set on! Seems like good peace of mind for late season riding or anytime during the winter if conditions get quite hard! Does the location that you have them mounted work good Daranello?

its a perfect spot as the mount backs flush onto a support...get under the sled and you'll see what I mean...you'll also have to mount extra rivits on the boards in that area

My Yamaha dealer got them from Kimpex.

When there not needed during good snow period, I take the spring off with 1 bolt

yamaha has a pair that mount to rail. I just saw them on their website. new for next year.

I wonder, has anyone tried to mount these scratchers to the front bulkhead of their sled? This way, all the ice/snow will be scratched up right in front of the track, as opposed to the side. Kind of in a similar position where those that mounted scratchers on to the sway bar bolts in this thread: http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php? ... scratchers

I love the theory of scratchers, but they seem like they'd be a pain in the #*$&@ keeping them in good order and remembering not to go backwards and wreck them.

IMO there too much wind turbulace out from to make them effective, prior to this I had the ski mounted ones and they were not as effectice as these....as for forgeting them down....you shouldnt as they vibrate as hell and you know when there down (mine self deployed in soup snow so I didnt know)
the side mount scatcher are nice cause it throws in tons of snow inside the skid and on the rails where ya need it

So guess what...I pick up my 2013 Royal Distributing Catalogue and on page 163 they use my pictures posted ONLY on this page...hmmmm

and used it last year....

Sounds like Royal Distributing owes you a gift card! I have these too and they work great but I thought they put too much stress on the aluminum when retracted so I made clips that hang down farther. It also makes them easier to deploy and retract.
