Just got a 5'x4' roll of vinyl wrap ( got lots because mistakes will be made, lol) This is my first time using the stuff but I have seen how this stuff is easily manipulated, stretches shrinks, etc with the use of heat. I want to wrap my tunnel as well as the rear of my new 2012 XTX with black vinyl as my sled is black also.
I was thinking of removing the rear plastics that hold the muffler tail pipe covers, this would make it easier to run the vinyl straight up & under instead of cutting around the plastics. Does the seat have to come off first?
If anyone has any tips for precise install, please DO share, lol!

yes, seat comes off with 2 bolts inside of the trunk, then you can loosen the back 2 bolts right by the exhaust tips and slide the plastics back and unplug the tail light,

If possible, I'd love to see pics along the way too. "Go ahead... Jump in... It will be okay"

WOW, couldn't believe only four bolts had to come out to remove the seat, light assembly & the exhaust covers!! Took less than five minutes, lol.
Can't believe some people say there are hardly any differences between the older Apex vs the 2011 & up! The more I compare my 06 to this one I realize there is A LOT of changes! It was nice to see Yamaha make this change to make dis assembly easier for the owner.

Finished wrapping the tunnel & the rear. If it wasn't for all the damn rivets it would have been an extremely easy job as this stuff is so easy to manipulate & work with!

does it
Thanks! Just when you think you screwed it up you just put the heat to it ( heat gun) take it off & start over, lol! I can't believe how this stuff stetches & shrinks, having fun now, lol! Think this turned out pretty good for my first attempt
even look good on and around rivets?
