Hi. Spent Saturday on the lake, with the radar gun. 2005 Skidoo GSX 800-104mph, 2008 Skidoo GSX 800R-107mph, 2006 Skidoo MXZ800-109mph, 2008 Skidoo GSX800R with Cudney clutch kit-111mph, 2006 Yamaha Attak with Simons CPR front mount turbo-121mph. We ran 2000 feet. My Attak ran out of gear well before the gun. Does anybody have suggestions as to what top gear to use? I have reverse, so the bottom 38 tooth gear has to stay. Appreciate any help. By the way, in a drag race, the Skidoos are ashamed to be on the same lake.

You will need to get a 25 tooth top gear to keep your 38 rev. bottom. Micro belmont used to make 35 tooth bottoms for the reverse yamahas too. The 25 should give you about 10 more mph on top. Would you be a buddy of Josh? He was telling me about a friend building a turbo attack!

Hi. Have you heard of anyone running the 24 tooth? The sled feels like it could pull any gear. Josh is a friend of mine. He steered me in the right direction with the Simons kit. Just love it.

A 24 will work also ,but you will still run out of gear. I would run it into overdrive with that gear ratio.

24/38 will net u around 129mph thats what i did with the 1 1/4 track . i switched this year to 26/38 with a 1 inch track that i have yet to try but i feel maybe the 26 is giving me some dlet slippage from a dead stop on ice with chizels

I was running the stock Yamaha belt. The ribbed top came unglued and peeled off the belt. I am going to try a Dayco belt. How do I run the sled into overdrive? Right now, at low speed, the sled throws itself sideways at the hit of the throttle. The 26 tooth gear should help hook the sled at slower speeds. I mostly trail ride, but want to make sure my friends don't think they can catch me.

I have a 25 top gear with stock lower and reverse and I never run out, seen 156mph on the dream-o-meter which I think is right at 135-138 radar mph

With the stock 24 gear, the dream-o-meter read 145 mph, 121 mph on the radar gun. The 156 mph would be about 131 mph on the gun. Has anyone tried the 26 gear?

It was the entire bottle in one screaming event, took awhile, it doesn't jump right there. I say I was on the bottle a good 15-20 seconds she was still creeping but I ran out of room. Jumps to 140ish instantly and creeps from there.

- Which one? I have 6
You should have no problems pulling the 25. Overall best for everything, trail and track.
