I do some trial all motor runs with entire turbo system installed but intercooler not installed.

Is it normal for the header to glow red after a 5-10 seconds full throttle run on the bench?

System is boondockers sidemount turbo.

thank you

And is it normal that it stays glowing for long time at idle after the run?

Normal.

Is there is a certain amount of glow that would be abnormal?

Mine is not dark red but more like orange

I just want to be sure....

Get a EGT gauge if you are concerned.

Only thing I am concerned is if combustion occur in the header pipe... Would egt tell me this?

My Eagle Talon after a hard pull at night at the track would glow so bad you could see the turbine wheel though the casting. It would actually go transparent.

combustion in the pipe would be uncontolled so that is what you call explosion not burn. if explode you will know. why are you running it so hard in shop temps will skyrocket asking for trouble. keep good extinguisher handy

It will be even worse when I will dyno her this coming saturday ;)

By the way, I dont see how it would run much cooler on the snow... Snow doesn't get to the header pipe...

Would it be a good idea to remove my stock exhaust holes cap off to let some snow on the header??????

No - that's a very BAD idea. You want to retain as much heat as possible in the header pipe - heat is the energy that spins the turbine. A lot of people have their pipes coated for this reason. Also the cold snow will quickly crack or warp the header pipe. On the dyno you will see the header glow bright orange - rather impressive to watch.

no no snow on header you dont want to quench the exhaust. air flow is what is needed. big fans blowing over the nose of machine while dyno running, intercooler temps should also be monitered during test it is relevant to power boost and the evil beast detonation.
