I ready to make my 09 nytro the real deal. Everyone seems have a different opinion about both setups. I ride at 2000ft most of year the but take about three trips to the mountains. I want the power of the supercharger and don't think I need the wild top end of the turbo. Most of the info I get is from guys riding the RTX. Being a MTX rider if I run the wild top end the RTX riders do i'll be buying hyfax after every ride. So what i'm thinking is a MPI Stage II, rb3 and meth, give me your opinion.
That sounds great to me!!!

i've got the mtx with mpi stage 1, i use it at 2000 feet and about 5 or 6 trips to the mountains. i'm happy with mine, although i haven't got the flatland clutching 100% just yet, i'd still recomend it. have fun.

you think the stage I is good enough. What kind of boost are you running.
Yea unless you are going big! (injectors,pistons,rods.....) Stage one is good! 9psi now but 14psi after the sled is spot on at 9psi!

i'm just running about 8 psi at 2000 ft, and 12 at 6000, seems good enough, but a guy could always use more power, right?
more power!!!!!!! HAHA ALL WAYS NEED MORE!!!

Ok you made up my mind stage I it is. Is it tough to get the clutching tuned in? Do I need more gauges than a boost guage?

I just bought a new mcx kit for my nytro mtx and paid under $5000. I live north of grand forks and will be riding at 300 feet most of the time and make two trips a year out west. The mcx kit adjusts fuel to the elevation so there no need to adjust a box. Mcx claims 12psi on 91 octane at sea level. Of course you wouldnt need 12 as im going to run 10psi on 93 octane. Just another option and sounds like mcx is a dead reliable setup. just my .02

The stage 1 super works great. A friend of mine runs one at 7 psi here at 1500 feet . It can only get better with head shim, cam timing , bov and rapid bike.
I run the Powderlites stage two kit at 10 pounds on 91 and have close to a 1000 miles now with no issues. Power is insane and not boosting all the time like a super which will be better on gas. Plus adjustability of boost at will with the touch of a controller unlike a super where you have to change pullys.
Dollar for dollar the turbi I believe is the better way but you can't go wrong with either.

i'm not trying to make your choice for you, but i've ridden both (i own a s/c) and they both have their ups and downs. turbo=more power and lag, s/c less power and no lag. i personally am a two stroke guy and love the s/c cause it suits my riding style. its best to ride both and make your mind up. hope this helps, but i doubt it will.

Im not bashing anybody but a properly set up turbo has no noticeable lag. Superchargers are really snorty off the bottom, but a turbo set up right is really close.
