I noticed a little noise last year and even more this year when I went back to SM.

Time for a rebuild i guess. 8500kms
Hows everyone else fared out ?

Maybe 17psi with the SM puts alot of stress on the internals
Good time to use that 20 year warranty

Yea she’s toast. Usually happens from running a non synthetic oil. Coking on the bearings after running hard then shutting down right away. Always let your sled idle for a minute or two after hard running.

Always used cat full synthetic and always idled before shutdown.
Anyone recommend a place that rebuilds ?

Can’t rebuild a stock turbo
I have one if you need one
Will your dealer warranty it?

There where some issues in 17 if I remember correctly. Seems like a few had turbos replaced early on

Dealer is talking with Cat. My fault for not posting this question before warranty ran out a couple weeks ago. ...

J&J. sent you a message.

Thanks

Hmmmm, do you think the sm tune had anything to do with it.

I wonder if the extra heat running a sm is harder on the turbo?

I dont think so.. Not directly. This turbo was loud way before that.

Now in the long run i suppose spinning anything faster, increasing heat is going to reduce life expectancy
