PS MY sled went from 11300 rpm to 12200 on the rev limiter as soon as I did the muffler( 2 X 2 IN pipes straight out the back JAN 15 th ) , still will not go that fast(ONLY 78 MPH ) with STOCK MTN GEAR!

Do you have a photo of the muffler job ?
 
NO , hole saw a 2 " hole , at rear of muffler , aligned with the inlet pipe from the turbo to muffler , weld a short tail pile on , I added another to the other side for looks , use the piece that you hole sawed out to plug the down pipe, after you cut it off !
 
Hey gsxr....you should have stopped in Wpg when you passed through. No joke when we talked you were in "stoke" I did the mod and then had to reclutch. As discussed. Now I have to re gear. again. We are just crazy flatlanders who like speed. The radar runs speak for itself.
We Have a RX1 here doing 134 mph in 1500 feet of track non studded
Tee looks awesome......take the mcx plate off and drill a 2 1/2" whole saw inline with the incomeing pipe from the back side from the turbo. You will see the baffle it is 2". get a 2 1/2 " pipe from your local muffler shop at desired bend and slip it over the ballfe approx 2" inside muffler. get rid of that mcx fix. When your exhaust comes in it just hits that back wall of the muffler at high speeds. Look at the rear mount turbo's on rx 1's straight pipe out the back from the turbo.

Wouldnt it be a better look to get another type of muffler instead of modifying the mcx muffler ?
 
GEARED & TURBO'D on flatland those speeds would be attainable,

but you stated " mtn lite stock gear "
 
Tee.... get rid of the muffler and put on a straight pipe from the turbo. This way you can save your muffler and definately will sound different. It would be a cheap experiment if you got and hour of your time. Your rpm and top end speed with rise greatly. I agree with the guys saying they can get beat by a 600 .....if you don't do this mod.
 
The no-muffler thing has been tried in Sweden, a lot of noise they said. I don't want to disturb everybody :-o
 
Leave the muffler alone and get the air filter out from under the seat. $15, 180 deg. bend radiator hose from NAPA auto parts.
With the filter under the seat, it will suck in exhaust gasses and hot air from under the seat and tunnel.
Fresh cold air = faster response and more consistant performance with out all of the noise a loud exhaust.

I don't care if you call BS or not! I was there you were not. The M7 and 800 Doo didn't stand a chance. Even when they got a jump out of the hole because I didn't get the turbo going before I nailed the throttle I would still catch them in about 100 feet and blow by them shortly after. I don't understand what is so hard to believe about that.
 
MTN LITE ON THE REV LIMITER WITH STOCK GEAR WILL ONLY SEE 78 MPH !!! TURBO OR NOT ,
ANY M7 OR REV 800 IS FASTER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
 
Hey guys, keep in mind phazerboost may be at elevation. The NA sleds will lose 3% HP per 1000ft, so if at 5000 ft the 800 would have less than 120HP, while the turbo stays at 140HP. If he is even higher up, the difference would be even greater. This may explain the discrepancies in top speed. The NA's just can't pull the speed up high.
 
Rideblue, I understand what your getting at with the filter, but here me out. If you punch a hole straight out the back of the muffler you have no restriction and you still get the advantage of the baffle inside the muffler. The 2" whole saw piece you cut out will be used to block off the original exhaust hole outlet that you will cut off flush at the muffler by the filter. Now with the pipe cut off by the filter you have less chance of ice or condesation around your filter. All the heat is going straight out the back new exhaust exit. My filter is fine now because there is no hot pipe by it. By having that pipe and supposed fix by mcx you still get the snow melting by the filter. Oh yeah make sure you block the tunnel hole for the old exhaust outlet. Filter problem is cured. Please keep in mind I am a flatlander with lots of trail rideing and open lakes. I'm not a mountain guy. I need top end and not bottom end grunt.
