How do you more experienced with turbo guys feel the sled will be as far as wrenching after every other ride ? Do you think if installed by a quality dealer it will be a turn key set up with no problems for thousands of miles ? I'm a fairly good wrench but don't want to be doing it, and have no turbo experience with sleds. I'm considering dumping my snow checked Apex Mt. SE for a boosted Mnt. Lite. All input appreciated !
FWIW, I'm concerned about the Phazer motor's stock reliability, not to consider hopping it up. I'd personally hang on to the Apex for a year, or at least half a season and see how the Phazer pans out. Not to bash the Phazer, but the motor seems pretty high strung for a stock, 500cc sled.

motor dependability stock I wouldn't question !
As many Phazers as Yamaha is sending all there dealers, A LOT, I'm certain they aren't in the least bit concerned with the dependability of this engine stock. Also consider they've been building this sled since 2000. I'm sure Yamaha has put it through the paces before offering it with a 3 year warranty as a snow check sled.
My Apex will be $13.400.00 out the door, with the extra's I want so, I won't be selling it and taking a loss for a Phazer in a year or two. If I get the Apex It won't be for sale, I'll have to much already invested. Anyone have any turbo thoughts ?

I didn't catch you had snowchecked the Apex. A turbo Phazer will be a fun sled to ride.
I agree that Yamaha does seem confident in the sled's reliability. They offered snow check buyers a 5 year option for the warranty. Still, I'll wait and see. I'm curoius, where did you hear they have been building the sled since 2000?

my dealer
My dealer is a big Mod dealer for Yamaha on the west coast, one of the best and works closely with them, the sales manager was told they started working on this sled in 2000, by his Yamaha Rep. Makes you wonder what awesome things will come in the next five years....LOL

Turbo Tim
TY 4 Stroke Master
It's all about horsepower for me ........................................310 HP TApex compared to a 140 HP Tphazer..............However if the boost could be be turned up enough to get it to the 200 HP area ,and holds up well , I would have to say it would be pretty cool.

200 H.p. in the Phazer chasis......We'd all be happy
I would think the ultimate goal for Yamaha would be a 150 h.p. class sled in the Phazer chasis, I think we'll see that in about three years but for now I don't think the 500cc twin can handle that mcuh boost, I may be wrong but that would be 140% more than stock....... that would be incredible if in fact it would hold up. My initial hopes were Yamaha would efi the Vector this year, that's why I waited another year but damn them if they didn't do it.
I wanted a boosted vector but couldn't bring myself to spend 14000.00 on a boosted "carbureted" sled and I'm tired of waiting so I snow checked the Apex. I think I will just hold out a few years with my Apex before going boosted and hopefully by then Yamaha will have the 120 or equivalent in the Phazer chasis. I think there is just to many variables with a boosted Phazer for me right now. I suppose if 150 h.p. isn't enough I'll have it turbo'd but I think I'll be happy for a few years. Thx for your input guys !
