I just got my new header from ulmer today. The old header has a mesh wrap around the male end that plugs into the muffler (female end) I would describe this mesh as a gasket material for sealing the header / muffler connection. Ulmer's instructions don't say anything about reusing this on the new header. Plus i'm not very sure it is reusable. What have you guys done on yours? Thanks

Reused it. It's a bit of a PITA to get out but it should definitly be possible without damaging it.

I'm also gonna use a tube of RTV exhaust sealer on that joint and cover the donuts on the flex pipes.

Thanks for the replies. I'll just order a new one. They are only $15. But my ? was answered do I need it? And the answer is Yes!
They usually stick to the muffler ~ actualy have to beat them out. Wish i knew they were only 15 bucks i would have saved myself an hour of messing around.
