Ultra Plate/Front Skid Plate Pics Plz

I just lifted the front end to about 30 degrees with a set of chainfalls from the roof of my garage and installed it lying down. (I used a few ratchet straps for extra strength while it was hanging just incase) Took about an hour, pretty simple.

Ya thanks. If I had chainfalls at my disposal do you think I would have asked those questions.

I installed mine buy putting it up on milk crates, two in each corner, total of six.

It never occured to me until I just read back through this thread, but since installing it, I have not had wet boot syndrom.

Honestly, I have no idea what tools or equipment you have at hand, it was just a suggestion instead of putting it on one side. And if you were half as smart as your smart a$$ remarks, you wouldn't be so quick to cut someone up who's trying to help you, nor would you have asked the question in the first place. Good Luck

Not trying to cut you up at all. IMO you're being a little sensitive. Sometimes people chime in on a thread and it doesn't answer the questions asked. Much like your reply. No offense man, I thought it would be quite obvious I didn't have a lift or chainfalls...because if I did...

No prob man, but like I said, it was just a suggestion to avoid putting it on it's side and encountering the issues associated with it. If you have any straps at all, I would try using them first (lots of them too) before tipping it on it's side. Grab a couple of buddies to help suspend it while you hook up the straps and hang er high.

Tip it to the right hand side and not more than 90* . on the one we did here sierraspirits we put a block under the handlebar to hold it from going too far .

leaned mine on a 45 degree angle braced on a 2x4 against the battery bracket, the bracket is quite strong and did not bend.

Ultra Plate

I had an almost full tank of gas. I tipped the sled on the rightside, brake/oil tank side. I used a railroad tie under the handlebar so it wasn't completely on the floor. I had no gas come out, I did not pinch the fuel line. Worked good for me. By the way, those plastic clips Yamaha wants $2.50 or $3.00 for! Once you put the Ultra plate on you get to keep 4 of them as spares. They are underneath holding factory skid.

Yes to mark for drilling holes onto the lower side panel then reinstalling it! Using the ultra skidplate you will end up installing speed nuts or u type nuts on each tab that the 4 darts that held on the center tub plate. (hidden when lower side panels are on) and sandwitching the center plate, lower side panels, and ultra skid plate together using 4 screws and mentened speed nuts. (use a small amount of lock tight!) Then the 2 clamp type mounts that secure the from bumper bars to the slid plate and you are done! While you have this factory center plate off look and see IF you have any oil residue on you engine and clean it up at this time too. (chances are it is coming from your air box)
