I'm doing an under tunnel exhaust on my sled and I'm running a full length can that will dump near the back of the tunnel. It will pretty much be exactly like this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=infBcbkrZTM

His comments on the video say he had problems with that set up. Can anyone think of what problems he might have had? I want to keep a full length can to keep the sound deep and fairly quiet and put most of the heat escape out the back.

I know most guys here that have done an under tunnel have dumped the exhaust pretty much under the seat.

Give me your thoughts please. I've already done some cutting and fitting, just need some encouragement to finish up I guess!

I ran mine as far back as possible, and used a turn 45 degree turn down turning to one side. I havent had any problems with it so far, some say they have ice build up problems but I havent so far.
Sounds good and I shed a few pounds.

most problems are related to stalling in deep snow conditions. My Apex had the issue untill I limited the amount of snow that was getting under the hood. Also if I am stuck I open a hole to allow the exhaust gas to exit

OK, Im also going to be adding a snorkel so hopefully I wont see any underhood plugging issues.

I was really worried about tunnel strength when doing all the cutting to allow the pipe to fit. I will be doing some reinforcements before covering everything back up with sheet aluminum.

The majority of the problems you will see will be in deep snow riding. I've built a few and have found that if you put a deflector sheild in behind the pipe it keeps the snow from jetting into the end of the pipe and choking off the motor. Check out the thread below for pics of what I'm talking about. I just picked up an Apex and I'll be doing the exact same system on it. Works killer with the sheild.
