2014 SR Viper RTX SE
I am in the process of going through my new sled (Well new to me) and upgrading or replacing components that either NEED replacing or parts that I see potentially causing issues in the future. I am also updating some stuff just for fun. Sled is a 2014 RTX SE with about 600 miles on it. With all of that in mind I am looking to replace/ upgrade parts on my front suspension. The A Arms are starting to show a lot of rust along with some other things that are bothering me. I would like to replace the A Arms (Upper and Lower), ball joints, spindles etc... My shocks are still in perfect condition so I would like to keep those. I also bought new skis to replace the stocks. In the process I would like to change the color from black since I am updating the plastics as well as wrapping. I would like to go white and blue.

I see that there are a lot of parts out there that will narrow the ski stance but I don't believe I will benefit from that. I primarily ride lakes, ditches, trails, rivers etc.. I am not a mountain rider and will rarely if ever be in very deep powder. So my question is does anyone have suggestions on where I should start looking? Do I just swap out the OEM? Is there any aftermarket components that are available without narrowing things up? I have scoured the depths of this forum and the internet but I am struggling to find answers. I truly welcome and appreciate any insight one may have. I am still new to the world of snowmobiling but have found this forum to be an invaluable resource. Thanks

I'm thinking that with 600 miles there shouldn't be too many things that need replacing. Sandpaper and paint will fix rust a lot cheaper than new A arms. I have over 5000 miles on mine and I'm not looking at replacing anything.

You have a very good point. Would be a heck of a lot cheaper. In this instance the components I would be getting is a birthday present. Hard to say no when it is a gift. A lot of this may or may not really need to be replaced but given that this sled was supposedly a race team test sled I can only imagine what it went through in those first 500 miles. I would rather replace the suspension for piece of mind and keep the current stuff for backup should I break something. And knowing me the chance of something breaking is pretty good. lol

I have 2 uppers and 1 lower arm in mint condition narrowed my sled with only 200km on it the other lower one I sold to a guy who bent one if yours are in bad shape pm me

I never considered that. Putting on a fresh coat would be beneficial.

My goal besides making color changes is I also want to make sure that I have the most reliable equipment underneath me. Whether it be just refreshing what is currently there or upgrading the OEM to 2015/2016 or spending the money on aftermarket parts to make sure I am confident in my equipment. I work through this same process on every vehicle or toy I have usually without issue. Well I take that back.. the only issue I have is the wife and mother in law groaning because they know i'll be in my shop cussing and swearing. :) Snowmobiles are new to me hence why I have reached out. And so far people have given me great ideas and things to ponder.
