So at 3800mile the upper chaincase bearing #*$&@ the bed.. Caught it early so didn't take out any gears or damage cases.. Sucks cause I checked it last yr when I updated bushing in upper gear and looked fine...
Anyways is the Yamaha replacement a better bearing?? I've read other post about Fag and Skf. Wondered if Yamaha bearing was steel caged.

I can’t answer about the Yamaha bearing. I replaced with a fag tapered bearing and have over 6k on it with no issue. My factory bearing went about the same mileage as yours and don’t want to replace that often.

Climb the same fag bearing that is on Amazon?? Was reading on here about steel cage inner races which I would prefer.
