Ok just putting this thing back together and have a question. when i took it apart i noticed no snap ring holding the upper bearing into the chaincase. There is a groove for it but its not there. Is it missing or not supposed to be there?

According to parts fish yes one is there. Will look at old pics of mine to see if can spot it also.

This is what Mr.Sled has in his. Only one with real miles on that I know of. Just make sure if you have the locking collar setup that the inner race is Tapered. Later is not tapered.

Is it the same procedure like the old one ? Just insert the old locking collar under the bearing and screw the washer on it to lock the bearing ?This is what Mr.Sled has in his. What old one? Previous Yamahas? Same. Just make sure the clutch side support is all torqued down and bearing there is seated before tightening the nut. Most of us use a punch to tighten the nut but there is a torque spec and a tool to do it the dealers have. Your call. I never had a issue but is one more reason I switched to the 16 setup which eliminates the collar. Now in 17 the whole wobble bearing is eliminated. Is it the same procedure like the old one ? Thanks Cannondale for the warning. So...I'm very interesting to change for the 17 jack shaft. Many advantage like 6206 and more simple in components. I hope this will be available right now and not too much expensive ....

I agree but it is untested in public and the failure rate of even the 2014 system was very low. Most were probably caused by overtight chain tensioner short and long term. I think you will be fine whatever you decide to put in there. Thanks Cannondale for the warning. So...I'm very interesting to change for the 17 jack shaft. 6206 bearing is 30mm x 62 mm x 16 mm
The -16 2206 bearing is 30 x 62 x 20 so I don't think the -17 jack shaft and 6206 bearing fit in your case?

I think it was said case is a different part# also. The techs are going to the update classes in a few weeks I believe. We all will have a better understanding after that. I know they addressed it when 16's shaft change came out.6206 bearing is 30mm x 62 mm x 16 mm
