SO today at work I was bored and happened to have one of my extra upper a-arm ball joints there that has the usual large amount of play in it, I spent awhile looking at aftermarket heim/ball joints trying to come up with an alternative but with the length of the ball joint its hard to find a heavy duty one. So I thought to myself why not try and tighten this one up. So i found a metric socket just big enough for the bottom and one just a little smaller for the top and stuck it in the 20 ton press, after it was done the ball joint still moves freely but has no more up and down freeplay. I know this isnt a permanent solution but I cant see spendy 80+ bucks on a part that doesnt last very long. I guess the reason I am posting this is has anyone else tried this and does anyone think I weakend the part by doing this? Let me know. Thanks
