Can I reuse the upper chaincase locking collar?
I'm being told they are unavailable, and I'm not in a position to upgrade to the newer jackshaft right now. Sled has 3500 miles.

Thank you. Yes, doing bearings and seals. Replacing lower driveshaft for a spun brake side bearing. Is the upper bearing installation socket a "must" for setting torque? Or can I get away with counting rotations and verifying orientation? When doing the bearings, yes.

I just rotate it until there is no slop and get close to where you can bend a tab and then take screw driver and a rubber hammer and tighten one or 2 more spots. Does that make sense?Thank you. Just finished up my chaincase overhaul. When manually spinning the drive cog to verify everything is moving naturally, is it normal to have a decent amount of chain/sprocket chatter before adding oil?

Ok thanks. Threw me for a loop. Pulled the cover back off and everything is as it should be and smooth as butter.
Upper bearing replacement went great, thanks again for the help.
