For all of your information; J R Graham Powersports Warehouse phone number 1-800-432-2238 has both straight and right angle shut off valves 1/4 inch, a new one uses double neoprene seals with two standard o-rings for about $8. a piece. They also have three different type of clamps including ss worm drive, clip style and universal style( similar to stock) They take orders seven days a week and you will usually recieve your order the very next day. I have purchased from them and they are about the quickest getting it to you! :D Usually the very next day 8)

Bob, thnaks for the info but I have a concern. I was looking in Dennis Kirks catalog and found valves there too but they listed them as being for 300CC and smaller sleds. I wonder if the one's in J R Graham's obstruct fuel flow any :?

How many to buy

I was looking at my machine and it's going to take 2 shut offs to do the job correct. I'm amazed Yamaha didn't take care of this little fact. Anybody have some pictures of this mod would be appreciated. Thanks for all the help.

I'm sure the pumps on th RX1 are different, but on the 2 strokes, there is a built in shut off in the pumps, making a seperate shut off unnescesary, at least for trailering. Anyone had a 4 stroke pump apart yet?

Hey Mighty! The valves listed in the JR Graham catalog do not indicate any restrictions at all, and they look identical to the ones that TRUEBLUE is showing in his picture. Hey TRUEBLUE do you have any problems with fuel flow?

Any pictures of inline shutoffs without mounting brackets?

I bought the Motion Pro 200cc max inline shutoff for the carb heaters and it looks too restrictive to use for fuel.

sanks

Vmaxjohn, look at my article titled "Valuable Yet exspensive lesson learned". I've had the pumps apart and they are no differant than most vaccume operated pumps. Diaphram and check valve.

True Blue
That's a nice job you did. Is it too much to ask for specs like what thickness the aluminum you used and the height/ width etc. thanks in advance.

rep, here is a pic of mine which does not use a mounting bracket.

Nice job any specs

True Blue thanks for the pictures any chance of getting some specs on that setup. Are those the Yamaha shutoffs or aftermarket. I wonder if any of the dealers have any info on this potentially hugh problem.

Rep,

I was a little hesitant in putting the fuel shut-offs in that location but after riding it all last season, I had no issues with raddles or the levers getting shut off. They seem to stay in place. If you look closely right above the valves, there is a hole in the alum. tubing which is where the stock plastic fuel line clamp was located. I had to remove it because it was interfering with the valve levers. I thought about re-locating that stock plastic clamp closer to the front of the sled and use it to secure fuel lines past the valves but I never had a problem with them. If it does end up being a problem, I think that fix will do the trick.
