From the look of the picture it appears you have the ski's mounted in holes that are to far back. I'll be installing my X2's this weekend so I'll see how they look after. USI said to run the rounds bars as everyone else has stated but they also said to run the power steering plates to make it steer easier.

I forgot to mention that I do have the power steering plates on mine as well.
I will be waiting today for USI to get back to me and tell me what they think I should try next.

I have X2s on my XTX. No problems with the skis hanging like you have. You must have the wrong rubbers, mine are perfectly level. I have the skis mounted in the centre hole and am running 9" Shaper bars. It takes a bit of muscle to make it turn, but it goes exactly where you point it!
I'll try to remember to take pics tonight and post them here for you.

I put the USI X2s on my '09 XTX late last winter when I first bought the sled. Rode 100 miles. Had the skis mounted in the center hole with the USI mounting kit. The skis in the air were pretty flat.
However the skis on my Nytro were totally different animals than on my Attak. The skis steered very heavy and hunted pretty bad at speeds below 30 mph.
I am going to run the stock skis for now with Bergstrom tripple carbides and shims.
I do plan on trying the USI's again but I will use them with Hygear tripple rate springs in the front and standard wear bars on the skis. Not the shapers I had on. See if that will help with the heavy steering.
I had the power steering plates on as well.
Just as an FYI. Trying to understand the heaving steering with the USI skis vs stockers I measured the keels on both. The Yamaha ski has a 3/4" keel. The USI's have a 1" keel.

Hey Easy Rider, did you have to do any shimming to the ski rubbers like some have talked about earlier on this topic or was it just a bolt on and go setup? If you did not require any shimming I would really appreciate if you could get a picture of the rubber or some measurements of it so I could forward it to USI. This way I know what rubber to tell them to ship me.
Thanks for any help in advance!

Kevin from USI said he went ant test fit the skis on a Nytro today and made new rubbers that he is going to send to me to hopefully take care of this. I'll let you know when I receive them.

I find it very difficult to believe that USI has not designed a ski rubber for the FX Nytro application....2 full years to sort this out and now it's noticed?...Weird.

Kevin got back to me and said the same thing today. He said I should get them by Friday or Monday at the latest so I will keep you posted as well.
As far as them not having the rubbers figured out for the Nytro yet I thought the same thing about the two year deal. He told me today that they designed the Yamaha rubber off of the Phazer so I guess that would possibly explain the problem.
All in all though I must say Kevin has been very helpfull in finding a solution to the problem and has been extremely co-operative in every question or concern that I have had. Like I have said many times; there was never a doubt in my mind that these skis would work well as far as handling goes because no matter what sled I have ever put them on they worked extremely well. And now that I have had the chance to work directly with Kevin on handling an issue I must say that they do not run from any problems, they work hard and fast to get to the bottom of it and make certain to make it right for the customer. So reallly I am extremely happy with everything they have done so far and look forward to getting the new rubbers to try out.

No shimming required, just bolted on and go. I am using the rocker plates as well. The rubber stops are completely different than what you have described, they are about an inch higher on the front side of the spindle.
Here's some pics, sorry about the quality.....

That wouldn't make any difference on how the rubber would effect the ski attitude. The different mounting holes just change the weight distribution and effective wheelbase. I tried mine in the back hole and didn't like the handling as well as in the centre hole.

Thanks very much for the info Easy Rider! I got my new rubbers in today and they look like they will work. They are similar to yours however still a little different. Not sure why but I do think they will work out okay.

Did you get them mounted up with the new rubbers yet? I just installed my X2's tonight and they point down just like your picture.
What I have found with these skis is that darting increases with the use of shaper bars. They are taller than the skis anti darting front was designed for and cancel out any anti darting gained from this featcure. The turning plates make the skis turn easier but also cancel out the effect of the anit darting front. Another thing that cancels this feature out is rear biased shimming. This lifts the front of the carbide out of the rut but increases turning effort and lifts the anit darting feature out of the rut as well so it adds nothing to the ski when used with rear biasing.
The best setup for those skis I have found so far(havent used on nitro yet)round bar, no turning plates, no bias in either direction. Doesnt dart and grips great in a corner. They are still a handful and I am experimenting with shorter carbies. Last year this mod helped a little but the ski still turns hard.
this year I will use some dartless plates on this ski and see if I can keep the great bit in a corner, great flotation, great looks and get the things to turn easier like my sly dogs.

I am going to try running the Hygear tripple rate springs to help reduce some of the ski pressure and then with the round bars. See if that helps with the heavy steering.
