USI Skis

Well I finally had a chance to install my new skis with the latest rubbers that Kevin from USI sent me and they worked out beautifull. I cannot say enough about USI as a company. Amazing customer service and they worked very close with me until we got it right.

Here are some picks!

The ski's still look like they might be tipped down a little to much. I always thought you would want the tips to point up a little when the ski's are off the ground.

They are not tipped down at all actually. It must be the angle that I took the picture from. A couple degrees down or up really has no effect on landing the sle when it is in the air because you have no idea of what angle you will land the front of your sled until you do it anyhow. I just did not want a huge drop in the front because that can pose an obvious problem if you land the sled nose first by accident.

Can you move the ski back one hole?

You will find the steeing slow in that position.

I can move it back and may do so but I am going with the recommended setup from USI first and then I will adjust. I will keep it in mind though. Thanks!

I got my new rubbers from USI in as well and things are looking much better. I also mounted in the rear hole per USI's instructions to give it a try.

So has anyone ridden their Nytro yet with the USI X2's in the rear mounting holes yet? Looking for some feedback so I can adjust mine before I ride this weekend. I like it to steer pretty aggressive and rail the corners. Thanks.

skis

Waiting on some input fellas. I just bought a set with power steering plates and 7 1/2 in shaper bars. I am looking forward to putting them on and fine tuning things.

I rode with the usi skis and you might want to try somethings.First turn the ski rubber around so that the larger part is to the rear. The biggest problem i have found is the nytro steering gets heavy at lower speeds .The little shim that bergstrom has helps point the ski up (call him great guy). I also found your suspension set up is key and adjust it one little adjustment at a time. I was lucky to see nick from curve and try their skis at snodeo in old forge .Well i traded my 250 mile usi's for his curve's .Put them on and all the low speed heavy steering was gone. I ran them slow and as hard as the trail would take and they handled it all. I could of tried more with the usi's but why the curves did it for me. I know some guy's have had bad luck with ski's but what i am starting to find is the nytro can be hard to find the right set up.When i first rode it i hated it now i love it and with a few mods i give my buddies apex fits .

I will say that you won't like it with the shaper bars on it, USI says to run the round bar and power plates so you might need to swap out the shapers.

Well since I spent the money and carefully picked the parts, I will give the setup a go, make a few suspension adjustments and see what happens. There are so many variables with rider weight, style & terrain I found it impossible to find that one setup that works for everyone. Of all the ski posts I have read I have yet to find the "setup that works for all". Thanks for your input, I will post up my findings in a few days. I am SURE it will be better than stock.
